2024 was a pivotal year for L&G. With a new CEO, refreshed strategy, updated purpose, and a new brand, stakeholders needed clarity and confidence. The complexity of L&G’s diversified business model added to the challenge. The objective was to create a reporting suite that clarified change, while conveying strategic intent with simplicity and impact.

We created a bold, balanced and credible reporting suite that makes L&G’s new era tangible, blending design, research and consultancy to articulate a clear and impactful story.

At first, we researched stakeholder expectations and conducted peer benchmarking, using our insight to shape the structure of the reporting suite. We focused the story on simplicity, growth and focus, while ensuring a close connection between financial and sustainability performance.

As one of the first pieces of flagship communication in its new brand, we made use of all new elements and developed a core visual system that could be applied across the entire suite to reflect a cohesive business.

Key innovations included:

  • A simplified business model, supported by a customer journey case study.
  • Stripping out duplication and sharpening the equity story with a refreshed investment case.
  • Business unit CEO commentary providing clarity and capturing the Group’s renewed ambition.
  • Issue-based sustainability reports aligned to impacts, risks and opportunities across climate, nature and social impact.
  • A journey to Net Zero timeline, supported by case studies and data visualisation.
