Junior Designer (Newcastle)

Our junior design role is a great first level opportunity to the design agency world giving you real-world experience in a creative and supportive studio. You will help to drive the creative direction of a brief and bringing fresh ideas to our client work. You would be based at our Newcastle studio, but we have a London studio also that we work seamlessly with. With future opportunities to transition to the London studio if wanted. We have a diverse client base and work with well know brands across the UK and the world.

In your role you will have an assigned mentor who will help guide you, especially in the early days and you will report to a Creative Director who will oversee your development. As a member of the design team within the wider agency we work across several disciplines, so you’ll get the opportunity to learn not just from our design team but from people around our business, as we offer a full-service agency experience for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Help produce engaging creative work based on client brief/feedback/amends to client deadlines
• To be proactive in seeking new briefs and tasks or help others
• Ability to use and learn from the advice of more senior colleagues

Skills and Experience Required

• A design degree and/or 1+ years experience at a design agency is preferred but not essential, but an ideas-based portfolio is.
• We’re not expecting to see tonnes of fully realised client work, but a showcase of what excites you about design – whether that’s university or competition briefs or self-initiated projects. We’re keen to hear from passionate designers who have a willingness to engage, learn and experiment. Have a can-do, enthusiastic attitude and with the nature of our work, good time management and organisation skills should be key skills to learn or have.
• Experience using Adobe CC Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and web software in the form of Sketch/Figma is desirable.
