Head of Digital

As our Head of Digital, you will work alongside our creative and strategic experts in Brand, Sustainability and Investor Engagement to drive innovative and exceptional solutions to the digital challenges of our corporate clients.

You will drive the growth of existing digital accounts as well as leading new business pitches for digital opportunities. You will be responsible for evolving our digital offer and have a clear understanding of the key digital challenges that B2B businesses face, developing and executing marketing strategies to raise our digital profile in the corporate communications sector.

You will have an excellent knowledge of digital technologies with the ability to understand the implications of technology choices. Working to effective delivery methodologies will be a key success driver in this role. You will manage all digital operations, including our standards, platforms, processes, tools, analytics, SLAs and external suppliers.

Operations

  • Responsible for quality standards across all aspects of digital delivery
  • Devise commercial strategies that drive maximum profitability for our digital offering
  • Develop long-term client relationships built around ongoing analytics support and a proactive approach to hosting and SLAs
  • Introduce the wider agency to the latest digital thinking and best working practices
  • Collaborate with the design, production, account management and editorial teams to drive quality communications
  • Ensure regular and effective reporting and reviews of digital business

Account management

  • Act as strategy lead on larger digital client projects, including project briefing and scoping, ensuring client requirements are documented and understood by all project stakeholders
  • Understand and utilise analysis of clients’ digital communications and analytics
  • Present strategic recommendations on UX, design and technical solutions

Team leadership

  • Build and manage the digital team, which is responsible for all digital operations
  • Take ownership of the team performance management reviews
  • Manage recruitment of new digital team members according to the needs of the business
  • Instil a culture of excellence and a collaborative mindset to build synergies and efficiencies across teams

Marketing and business development

  • Work closely with the new business team to develop long-term marketing plans to drive engagement in our digital offer
  • Collaborate with agency strategy teams to align the digital offer across disciplines
  • Work closely with the new business, strategy and client services teams to identify ideal digital prospects and cross-selling opportunities
  • Write digital proposals/decks and present solutions to clients and prospects, helping to convert larger-scale digital projects
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and changing best practices, identifying how these can help to solve client challenges and proactively contributing to thought leadership

Who we are looking for:

  • You will be a seasoned digital professional with at least five years’ experience gained in B2B corporate communications agencies
  • You will have a good knowledge of corporate communications (investor engagement, sustainability and brand communications)
  • You have a proven track record of introducing new business across digital communication channels
  • You are an accomplished leader with experience managing teams of digital specialists
  • You have good knowledge of technologies such as WordPress, Umbraco, Drupal, CRM, Google Analytics suite
  • You have experience of working with a portfolio of specialist digital partners
  • You have a good understanding of project management methodologies for supporting digital delivery
  • You are knowledgeable on broader digital disciplines, e.g. digital marketing, UX and SEO
