Client Manager – Sustainability

As a member of the Client Services team, you will take ownership in the management of key sustainability reporting, strategy, and communication projects for high profile clients.

You are the external face of the agency and are responsible for communicating our client’s needs to the creative and production teams. You will be overseeing and checking the work that is done and pushing projects to completion across multiple deadlines.

The role will also provide opportunities to own key accounts and manage projects in other disciplines, including annual reporting, and brand.

You will show great attention to detail and strive to get things right the first time. To get the best out of clients and the wider team, it’s essential to build positive relationships by taking the time to listen and communicating effectively throughout the process. Your ability to plan will keep you one step ahead but are also flexible enough to make changes and problem solve.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and project manage sustainability reporting, strategy and communication projects with key clients. Potential to also manage investor engagement and brand projects.
  • Plan schedules and resources with clients and teams, ensuring that key meetings and milestones are set from the start.
  • Maintain communication with client and agency teams, ensuring that timelines do not slip and all project members understand requirements for delivery.
  • Deliver a high standard of service to maintain client satisfaction and exceptional feedback.
  • Work collaboratively across all project teams, ensuring timely preparation of all required materials.
  • Lead the delivery at each project stage, coordinating with suppliers, driving realistic conversations around budgets and ensuring that all work has been completed to a high standard.
  • Take ownership for meeting financial targets of each account, as well as utilisation and profitability of your team.
  • Support the Client Service Director with the financial management of projects ensuring projects run on time, and assist with the client services invoicing.
  • Consult with key stakeholders on their areas of specialism to drive strategic development with our clients
  • Participate in pitches for new clients while up-selling services and our expertise to existing clients
  • Be prepared to offer advice and insight into best practice reporting to your clients to meet their expectations
  • Monitor team resources against workloads, ensuring that the right resources are in place to deliver on all account deadlines
  • Manage and mentor your own team of account managers and executives

Skills and experience

  • You have over 7 years agency experience, specialising in sustainability reporting, strategy, and communications
  • You have an understanding of latest sustainability reporting best practice
  • You understand how sustainability strategies, materiality assessments, reports, and communications campaigns are developed and delivered, and are able to see key risks to delivery at each stage.
  • You have strong interpersonal and communications skills, and can build trust and respect both externally and internally
