FTSE 250 Group Pennon asked us to take an objective view of their Annual Report and our recommendations marked a step-change in the way they reported to the city.

The entire report was re-considered and changes were made to content, pagination, strategy, KPIs, risks and governance. An inconsistent design treatment and repetitive structure was replaced with a coherent review of the business.

Group structure was set out clearly. Strategy was presented through a Strategic Q&A section, whilst ‘at a glance’ spreads provided context for each business, including KPIs aligned to Group and business strategies.

The risk table was restructured and trends indicated. The Governance section was substantially reworked, including a Chairman’s overview, Committee Chairman portraits and introductions and highlighted Committee sections.
